Britain is full of HIDDEN MIGRANTS …some of them are Nigel Farage’s children!
The Daily Express is warning of “hidden migrants” ignored by official statistics. Who are these people – and ARE they dangerous?
This morning, the Daily Express started calling British-born citizens “hidden migrants”, after a Migration Watch press release on the impact of immigration on population growth claimed that official statistics “seriously underestimate” the true numbers.
The Daily Mail hopped on the bandwagon and bemoaned that “statistics ignore 1.3 million children born to foreign parents”.
Do the statistics really ignore them? We found them, they’re right here!
We’d already fact-checked the Express this week, for running with the headline “UKIP is now MORE popular than LABOUR”. But who can resist a story like this?
Who are the “hidden migrants”?
According to the Express, the population is soaring thanks to “a foreign family baby boom” – but in reality all it takes to be a “hidden migrant” is to have a mother who was born abroad.
Although the Daily Express is only talking about people born after 2001, this seems an arbitrary distinction when talking about people who have a foreign-born mother.
