Renowned educationist, Fagil Mandy has been installed as new board chairperson of the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).

He replaces Prof Lutalo Bbosa, who has been at the helm of the examinations body for nine years. His last term expired in October last year.

Mandy was installed on Monday at UNEB’s offices in Kyambogo.

A former commissioner in the ministry of education and sports, Fagil Mandy will serve at UNEB for a period of three years.

Mandy vowed to work with other Government institutions to turn around the image of the institution, whose method of assessment has come under scrutiny over pre-entry exams established by Makerere University law students.

“I come with speed, summersaults and ground experience. I am intolerant to non-performers and politicians out there who think they can mess up UNEB; stand warned!” he said.
