Haitians call for president & PM to resign
Thousands of anti-government protesters took to the streets of Haiti’s capital on Friday to demand the resignation of the president and prime minister.
People set tyres on fire and threw rocks at police. Police had to fire tear gas to break up the rally. Demonstrators accuse the Haitian President Michel Martelly of corruption.
The president was supposed to call elections in 2011 for a majority of Senate seats, the entire Chamber of Deputies, and local offices, but hasn’t done so.
