KCCA pulls down illegal building on Plot42 Nile Avenue
Kampala Capital City Authority law enforcement officers have this Thursday morning pulled down an illegal structure on Plot42 Nile Avenue.
The officers who arrived at the scene at 6am with an excavator, hammers among other equipment pulled down the structure after the Vice President Edward Ssekandi wrote to Presidential Committee of Parliament to go on with the demolition.
However, there was a scuffle between the KCCA deputy spokesperson, Robert Kalumba and the Chinese contractors who had come to continue with the construction which ended with Kamlumba’s shirt being torn.
“I had gone inside to tell them to get out of the building but I think they did not understand English and they did not know what was going on and they held me by my shirt,” Mr Kalumba said.
He added that more buildings in town that did not follow the physical planning guidelines will follow.
