Quvenzhané Wallis to earn ‘$1.5million’ for role in Annie remake
Quvenzhane Wallis, the 10-year-old actress who was the youngest female star to ever be nominated for an Academy Award, has reportedly been offered $1.5million for the is set to star in the movie remake of Annie.
The acclaimed star, who rose to fame for her performance in Beasts of the Southern Wild, will play the orphan character alongside Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx.
It has been reported that actress Quvenzhane, nicknamed Q in America, has been offered $750,000 as a base salary and an extra $750,000 bonus if the movie is a hit, as well as other monetary and physical benefits.
Will Smith and Jay Z will be directing the movie – which is set to be released Christmas 2014 – while acclaimed director Will Gluck is also on board.
TMZ have reported the 10-year-old will get, in addition to her base salary and bonus, 5% of the profits from the movie, 5% of profits from all merchandising and 10% of all sound track album royalties.
Acclaimed actor Jamie Foxx will also star in the project as Daddy Warbucks and 40 year-old Cameron will take on the iconic role of Miss Hannigan.
Despite Cameron and Jamie’s several decades of experience in Hollywood, it has been claimed that 10-year-old Q’s name cannot be lower than second position in the title credits.
