The Promota Top Ten Winter Beauty Must Haves

By  |

by Beauty & Arts writer Clare Eluka
This winter seems to have come around so quickly and so invited by the hundreds of London Fashion Weeks shows, showing off the latest designs and predicted gems for spring 2011. I’ve always thought there should be some sort of catwalk for beauty so I’ve created one for The Promota readers to see the new and predicted trends for winter 2010.

At no.10: Dark lipsticks

are making a beautiful come back. And not the black lip which was the 2009 Rihanna look. This year, the plumful purple lip is chic, sophisticated, hard core and feminine.
MAC have a shade for all skin complexions: CYBER for dark girls, REBEL for brown and mixed race girls, MEDIA for light skinned girls. Lipsticks are £12.50

No.9: BeIge Nail Polish
is a colour that can be worn in the summer or winter. It has a clean and angelic finish to the nails without needing to be pink. Chanel does a shade, but I think Barry M’s £2.99 Mushroom is light-years ahead. Go Barry M! Looking for a salon? Go to www.minxmynails.co.uk

No.8: Choosing the right hair grease can be a nightmare, especially when you walk into PAKs as they stock millions- well at least thousands. My little sister brought me in on a secret hair grease – which is 100% Organic from Ghana. This herbal infusion inspires hair growth and conditions your scalp with a menthol hue. Nice!

No.7:

I do not wear foundation because I have lovely skin (I’ll let you know how at no.1) but if I do choose to use a face base, it would be Estee Lauder’s Vita – Minerals SPF10 Tinted Moisturiser. With added pomegranate oil, it glides onto the skin and gives a lightweight wearable coverage.

No.6: The catflick eyeliner
is a do-it look this winter. Sleek’s new eyeliners are so creamy; they create the perfect smokey eye and liner for a dramatic night time feline finish £3.49

No.5:

Looking good is one thing, but smelling good is essential. The winters fragrance must be alluring and warm for snuggling and neck nestling. Chanel’s Coco is the ultimate gift this winter… you’ve been told!

No.4: Makeup brushes
are the tools to making any makeup look polished and flawless. I recommend Bobbi Brown’s Powder and Foundation brushes for accurate application. £42 powder brush, £26 foundation brush

No.3:

Burberry Launched their new line of makeup this summer and we love their bronzing powders £21

No.2: Aqua Sheko
is the new phenoma that has had people queueing up to have the dead skin on their feet chewed away by baby piranhas. Get a 20 minute express treatment for £25
