About Ugandan UK Convention

The Convention aims to bring together the Ugandan Diaspora, business and national leaders in Uganda.  The first Uganda UK Convention in 2011 played a major part in bringing together Ugandans from all across the world. The Convention brings together the Diaspora because it continues to support Uganda’s growth even in the midst of the global economic downturn. The Convention aims to support coordinated action on economic and social programmes.  For example, “Let Them Help Themselves” is one of the charities selected to benefit from the Convention and the sponsorship has allowed five more girls to attend a community school. Education is one of the most effective ways of getting people out of poverty so actions such as this are an integral part of the work that the Convention is trying to achieve. By supporting socially conscious projects, the Convention expands opportunity in all communities across Uganda.
