Ugandans, Rwandans united by blood, love – Kagame
By Henry Mukasa
Rwandan President Paul Kagame has said that the cooperation between his country and Uganda is not only cemented by diplomatic ties but also more importantly by blood relations and sacrifices each country made to liberate the other.
President Kagame, while meeting the Ugandan community in Rwanda on Saturday, emphasized that this “special relationship” is not shared by any other countries on the continent.
He said that Ugandans in neighboring Rwanda should hence not be considered as foreigners.
“There is more that is shared between Ugandans and Rwandans than you would find between any other two countries,” said the Statesman.
“This is an opportunity that we can’t afford to waste. We should build on it and strengthen our ties.”
